Then actually saying “more apples?” when we tell her the grapes are gone! She is playing side by side with others and said, “bye Mom” when her mom dropped her off last Thursday morning. We continue to use the STAR program at Lighthouse.  Although we were already using many of the strategies included in the STAR program, such as visual systems, routines, and behavior plans, the program gave us the framework, structure and consistency we needed. It really pulled it all together for us.

The STAR program is designed for easy implementation within the International population. An enormous support for our team is that the programs are complete, so that teachers can spend more time on teaching rather than on paperwork.

Using this program, our team, including the teaching staff, OT, PT and SLP, has found success in all areas of development with our most involved children to those who are ready for part-time integration.
