STAR Autism Support Media Center™ Online Terms of Service

By activating a STAR Media Center subscription, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”) when using thestarautismsupport.com website (the “Service”).

STAR Autism Support dba STAR Support (“STAR Support”) reserves the right to update and change the Terms of Service from time to time without notice. In the event of a change to the Terms of Service, STAR Support will make reasonable efforts to provide all current users with notice of the change. However, it is the user’s obligation to read notices and comply with the most current Terms of Service, and Star Support reserves the right to pursue any and all action necessary, in the event of non-compliance with or breach of the Terms of Service. Any new features that augment or enhance the current Service, including the release of new tools, applications or resources (i.e documents, lessons or datasheets) shall be subject to the Terms of Service. Continued use of the Service after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.

Terms of Subscription

Subscriptions for the STAR Media Center may be sold on an annual or multi-annual basis. The Service is billed in advance and is non-refundable. There will be no refunds or credits for partial use of service.

Copyrights and Trademarks

STAR Support reserves all intellectual property rights existing in any content found in the Service. The Service and all content found within the Service are being made available for your use, but are not being sold to you. You are acquiring no ownership rights in the Service or in any registered and unregistered trademarks, copyrights, or other intellectual property rights protected under the laws of the United States and other countries. Without prior written consent of STAR Support or its assignees, you may not use or display these trademarks in any manner.

You may not make or attempt to make any copies of any Application or any part thereof, including related documents and resources, except as expressly provided by these Terms of Service. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Links Application or any other application covered under the Service.

All product names, logos, brands, trademarks, and registered trademarks are property of the respective owners.  All company, product, and service names used herein are for identification purposes only.  Use of these names, trademarks, and brands does not imply endorsement or any affiliation with SAS.

Use of Service

For content found under the “Classroom Tools” section or other downloadable reports and printable forms, you are only authorized to print and share this information with individuals needing this information to work directly with the classroom teachers for whom licenses have been purchased. This material may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, downloaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any other way without the prior written permission of STAR Support. This includes distribution to co-workers, parents or other individuals for the purposes of use other than with students working within classrooms for which teacher licenses have been purchased.

Access: Email and Password

A valid email account is required to access the STAR Media Center. You agree to provide such an email address at the time of account creation. Your email address is to identify your account. By activating a STAR Media Center subscription, you agree that STAR Support administrators may use this email address to contact you regarding updates or technical issues related to your subscription.

A password is required to access the Service. Your password is for your use only and is non-transferable. By activating a Links subscription or registering for a free preview, you agree that you will be responsible for maintaining your password as confidential and for any activity that occurs as a result of your access and/or as a result of your enabling or permitting another person or entity to use your password. You agree to notify STAR Support immediately in the event that your password is lost or stolen or you become aware of any unauthorized use of your password or other breach of security.

Termination of Use

STAR Support reserves the right to terminate your use of the Service if you do not comply with these Terms of Service or the terms of your subscription.

Disclaimers

·         STAR Autism Support provides strategic content for developing and implementing evidence-based instructional strategies and other strategies for working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities. STAR Support cannot verify the implementation of these strategies and as such is not liable or responsible for the actions of users of the STAR Media Center or the outcome of any such use. Other than as expressly set forth in the STAR Media Center, STAR Support makes no claims or promises as to outcomes or results. By activating a STAR Media Center subscription, you acknowledge and confirm that you understand this limitation on liability.

·         It is the user’s responsibility to know and comply with his or her organization, state or district’s policies regarding student information. By activating a STAR Media Center subscription or registering for a free preview, you acknowledge and confirm that you understand that STAR Support will have access to information you enter into the system, and that STAR Support is not liable for any user disclosure within the system that violates district policies or protocols.
