STAR Autism Workshop

This workshop is designed for preschool, elementary, and middle school educators interested in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies. Teachers, paraprofessionals, related service staff, and administrators will find the information relevant to the needs of their students and practical to implement in a public school setting.

This two-day workshop will teach you to use evidence-based ABA strategies focusing exclusively on the STAR Curriculum and will not include information on other similar or related projects.

At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Implement curriculum content appropriate for children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Utilize curriculum-based assessment techniques for baseline and progress monitoring.
  • Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) lesson plans.
  • Instruct children with autism using discrete trial training method.
  • Implement methods for teaching beginning, middle, and advanced learners.
  • Utilize pivotal response training to instruct expressive language and play/social skills.
  • Instruct children with autism to be independent and to generalize skills learned in discrete trial and pivotal response training within their daily routines.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs):    

This course is offered for 1.1 ASHA CEUs (intermediate level, Professional area).

STAR Autism Support is approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to grant Continuing Education Credits when the presenter holds a BCBA.  A total of 10 CEU's will be granted to BCBA professionals for attending the STAR Workshop.
