Teamwork Series - Paraprofessionals and Support Staff

Research shows that providing specific training and ongoing support to paraprofessionals results in improved academic and social outcome. To effectively support a variety of students, paraprofessionals need training in teaching communication skills, decreasing challenging behaviors, increasing desired behaviors, and increasing independence in functional routines.

Each module will take approximately 60 minutes and will include several learning experiences, such as video examples, reflection activities, and tools that can be used in classrooms. Upon completion of each module, complete the quiz to receive a Certificate of Completion. In participation with the grant, you will also receive coaching support and follow-up training in your classroom. This training will include observation, modeling, direct coaching, and feedback to support direct application of the teaching strategies you learn throughout this series.
